wow my body clock's all screwed up man...i'm so wide awake now...and i slept from 3 to 7.30 just now?!?!i was planning to wake up t 4.30...haha the time diff between spore and south africa is abt 6 hours...terrible....oh well...let's talk about my trip...
DAY 1: took the plane...10+ hours...had to stop 1+ hour at johannesburg for transfer...
then abt 2 hours to cape town...on the plane...watched 2 movies...how to deal(the mandy moore show) and turn left turn right...haha both also quite nice...tho turn left turn right was somewhat lame...wanted to watch johnny english but ended up playing mario...
DAY 2: reached cape town...went to a nearby beach...had a great view of table mountain...y table mountain?cuz this mt has a very flat top...looks like a big table...then the clouds that cover the top of the mt on cloudy days is called the table cloth...ok then we went to the ostrich farm...saw many ostriches(duh)...they even had baby ones...we had the chance to sit on one of the ostriches but me and my sis too chicken...haha scared of falling...the poor ostrich...struggled like mad...ate lunch at the farm..and what do u think we ate??haha ostrich meat!it was not bad...tasted a bit like beef...took a revolving cable car up to table mountain after lunch...my gosh...it was the best experiencei've ever had...it was kinda cloudy on that day...and up on the mt...we were practically in the clouds...breathed the clouds in....wow...i'll never forget it....it was like being in heaven...we had all sorts of pretty flowers ard...huge rocks....breathtaking... and the view from the top was so beautiful....
DAY 3: went to stellenbosch winelands first thing in the morning...saw the wine making process...got to taste some of their wine...haha but hte best thing was not the wine...it was the guide who showed us ard...he's sooo handsome!!!i think he's french and he spoke with such a yummy accent....*swoon*mwhahaha...pity we din take a pic with him...hee...then we went to a cheetah farm...quite boring cuz we din get to be close to the animals...but we saw the keeper playing with one of the young cheetahs...quite cute..after that we went to the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront...did some shopping...and we had a disgusting chinese dinner there...yuck...at night we went to the top of a mt...erm...i think it's called signal mt or sth..had a great view of the night lights in cape town...very pretty....
DAY 4: we went on a tour of the cape peninsula...reached hout bay where we took a boat ride to Duiker Island(also known as Seal island)...there were so many seals!!!and they were qt close to our boat...very cute!!had lobster for lunch...we were near the beach during lunch and their beach is...so diff from spore...it's so clean and blue... unlike our beaches here...after lunch we went to Boulder's beach to see penguins!so ke ai...
DAY 5:took an early domestic flight to johannesburg...oh by the way...some pple asked me what was the weather like in SA...i said abt aircon temp...I TAKE IT BACK.... it was very cool in cape town but in joburg...my gosh...warmer than spore can...it was so sunny too...now my face got my specs mark...so weird...went to pretoria...the Voortrekker monument...the were 26-29 carvings that told the story of the afrikaans and some tribes...our tour guide(melvin) did a great job of explaining i tell u...he's very good...
DAY 6: checked in to Sun city the day before...went to explore a bit...took their rainforest trail...saw their 2 metre wave(in a huge pool)...burnt the skin on my face(a few hours under that crazy sun...sure black one)ate at leonardo's pizza for lunch...the pizza was so huge and cheap!!!haha and in the afternoon...i saw my first ever porno show...shall not go into the finer details...we thought that the show was just like some colourful dance thing...we were so wrong...my gosh...let's just put in this way...too much(and i really mean TOO much) skin was shown to the audience(which included a 10 year old girl)...urgh...after the show went to continue exploring sun city...played at the arcade...haha cuz my family din want to play any watersports(sigh)...
DAY 7: we headed to the ENTABANI game reserve...4 hour coach ride...haha and here was another experience that i will never forget....at the game reserve...we took open top jeeps...went to see the big 5 (elephant, leopard, lion,rhino & buffalo)...but we only saw 2...rhino and buffalo...sad...saw many antelopes...and kudos...giraffes too.. we were so close to the animals...din even dare to breathe too loudly...that night we stayed at their lodge...mine was the 2nd lodge(there were 7 i think)...my room was called "black kite"(a species of kite-eagle?)...haha the best thign was at night...we had such a clear sky...there were so many stars!!!i never saw so many in my whole 16 years i tell u...it was so amazing....so romantic....haha...
DAY 8: woke up at 4 am in the morning for another game drive...it was so cold in the morning!!!freezing...i was wearing a t-shirt, my long sleeved pjs and a jacket but i was still shivering like crazy...haha saw more kudos and a herd of abt 8 buffaloes climbing up a rocky mountain...haha sounds unbelievable but they really were...rather slow tho... left the game reserve(very unwillingly) and went for lunch...at some stupid shinese restaurant again...all their chinese food suck...except one...can't remember the name..hee..went to the flea market after lunch...bot qt a lot of souvenirs...then we went to a diamond factory...my dad bot my mom a ring for her bday...so sweet... haha we kids were watching a jacky chan movie while the adults looked at the rings..
ate dinner...it was a game meat dinner...had stuff like croc meat...giraffe meat...yada yada yada..not bad..haha but it was too much meat...checked in to Hilton hotel for the last night in SA...
DAY 9 and 10: left the hotel at 11...went to the airport...did some last min duty free shopping...boarded the plane...watched Uptown Girls...very funny show!!!haha then listened to the cds available on the flight...at about spore time 7 am...we touched down...
well that was my trip to south africa...haha i really enjoyed it...it's a once in a lifetime experience for me....haha u guys should go if u have the opportunity...well shall go watch tv now...got co bbq tmr...yay!
